Sloane has discovered so many treasures that John and I cannot stop laughing / giggling / smiling / beaming... Here is a list of our favorites:
- Our doggie, Carrera. Anytime she is in the room, Sloane only has eyes for her.
- Her arms. She flops them all around; almost as if she were having a tantrum. (Perhaps a tell tale of what we will endure / experience as she gets older?!)
- Food. Our daughter is quite the baby of many expressions whilst eating. She does not care for rice cereal. Hates green beans. Can handle squash. Dislikes carrots. Likes sweet peas. The scrunching of her face, the horrified mouth, the flaring nose.... I will have to find the video of her first food(s) and download. (I am only four posts behind schedule.)
- Her socks. As quick as the child leans down, she snaps up the sock and has inserted it into her mouth. Once her parents, with their turtle like reflexes, snatch back the sock and place it back on the naked foot, the child has been gnawing on her other sock for a few drooly moments.
- Rolling. The easiest way to roll over is from front to back. Come on, think about it, raise your feet sky high and inevitably gravity will pull those legs to one side, setting you up for the roll. My kiddo can roll from back to front - picture the legs, pretzeling about, with the arm straight up in the air, trying to pull the body over. We have yet to get her to roll in a full 360, but we are working on it.
- Sighing. I do believe the best damned way to be woken in the morning is by a little one sighing. The hardest thing to not do was get caught waking John and sneaking in to watch the little one. I absolutely love the expanding vocal skills of our munchkin: cooing, spitting, screeching and sighing. I am sure "Mama" is next. Don't you think?
